Robbie Keane and Tallaght received a lot of love last night
Robbie Keane’s international career came to a close last night in the Aviva Stadium, with the Tallaght man bagging his 68th goal in a green jersey as Martin O’Neill’s side registered a 4-0 win over Oman. Keane was given a standing ovation from the huge crowd who turned out to say farewell, and Twitter was filled with love for the former Ireland captain.
Best of luck to our very own #RobbieKeane tonight. An outstanding player and captain for Ireland. #COYBIG #Tallaght pic.twitter.com/39Zs0QHBJ6

His home town also came in for plenty of love as many cited Tallaght as the place where Ireland’s greatest ever goalscorer was born.
