Santa is on his merry way – to Ballyfermot
SANTA is on his way to Ballyfermot for a free family event on Sunday, December 11.
The event takes place upstairs at Tim Younges pub, from 1pm to 5pm, and Santa will meet kids over two time slots from 1-2pm and 3-4pm.
It is organised by the Manchester United Ballyfermot Red Devils Official Supporters Club
“We are a United supporters club that meet in Tim Younges for the matches,” said David Kavanagh, Chairman of the Club.
“We organise trips to Old Trafford. With the Premier League on hold for the world cup, we decided to help out the local community.”
Local families will receive a ticket on arrival, and a seat upstairs to prevent having to stand outside in the cold.
Cartoons will be on all screens in the bar.
Each child will get a selection box, perhaps a surprise, a chat and photo with Santa and a place to post their Christmas letter to the North Pole
“The DJ will be playing Christmas hits and calling out the ticket numbers – put the child’s name on the back when going in to give the big man a heads-up, it adds to the experience. Dancing is welcome as long as it’s safe and there is enough space,” said David.
Visitors will also be able to enjoy some finger food, cocktail sausages, chips etc, and a lemonade stand will be provided free of charge.
Special guests on the day include former St Patrick’s Athletic captain Ian Birmingham, former boxing champions Luke Keeler and Stephen Ormand, and comedian Fabu D.
