SOUTH Dublin County Council has expressed “serious concerns” about the impact of a proposed two-storey extension of Holy Spirit Junior Primary School in Greenhills, Walkinstown on a residential area near the proposed development.

The application outlines plans for a 447sqm two-storey extension to the south of the existing single-storey school, adjacent to the Church of the Holy Spirit with access via Limekiln Lane.

Additional information is required by the council in relation to the impact of the proposed development on a residential area to the east of the proposed site.

The local authority has also requested details relating to the car parking structure of the site, and a site layout which details the existing and proposed number of classrooms and car parking spaces.

The adjacent school, Holy Spirit Senior Primary School, was recently granted planning permission for a single-storey extension.
