Connolly joins the Hoops from Galway United where he netted five league goals last season as the Tribesmen finished ninth.

The midfielder began his professional career with Derby County before moving to Ayr United on loan in 2011.

From there he moved to Sligo Rovers and then Longford Town, where he spent a year at each club before joining Galway in United in 2014.

Roberto Lopes will be a familiar face to many Rovers fans, joining from Dublin rivals Bohemians.

The midfielder scored two goals last season for the Gypsies, a club he has been playing with since 2009.

Paul Corry arrives in Tallaght from Northampton Town, having also played for Sheffield Wednesday, and both Tranmare Rovers and Carlisle United on loan.

The midfielder began his career with UCD, playing with the students for three years from 2009 to 2012.

Finally, Danny Devine has joined Rovers from local Tallaght side Firhouse Clover.

Earlier in the day Rovers also announced Stpehen Rice will be taking charge of the club’s U17 team.
