St Mark’s JNS awarded second green flag award

THERE was delight for pupils in St Mark’s Junior National School after they were awarded their second green flag under the theme ‘water’ this week.

Ruth Gaj-McKeever from An Taisce visited St Mark’s on Friday and was highly impressed with the programme that was implemented in the Springfield school.

St Mark’s went from using 11.48 litres per person per school week to 8.87 litres per person per school week and Ms Gaj-McKeever had no hesitation in granting the Green Flag status

“A huge ‘well done’ to all the green committee members. They are great role models and ambassadors and have worked so hard in securing our second flag,” said a school spokesperson.

“Well done everyone in St Mark’s JNS. We will be working on our flag for ‘Travel’ next year”.
