Suspect device discovered in Tallaght estate was viable

GARDAI have confirmed to Echo.ie that the suspect device located in the front garden of a house in Cushlawn yesterday was “deemed viable”.

At around 5.30pm on Wednesday, March 29, Gardai descended on Cushlawn in Tallaght following the discovery of a suspect device.

A heavy Garda presence was deployed into the area and a safety cordon put in place, as officers waited for assistance from the army EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal).

A Garda spokesman told Echo.ie today: “Gardaí attended the scene following the discovery of a suspect device located in the front garden of a house at Cushlawn Way, Tallaght, yesterday evening.

“The device was deemed viable and removed by Army EOD.

“No injuries were reported and no arrests have been made.

“Investigations are ongoing.”
