Tallaght brand-builder at forefront of new recruitment platform
By Maurice Garvey
NEW online recruitment platform TechFynder is growing at an exponential rate, thanks in no small part to a specialist brand-builder from Tallaght.
Paul Guy, originally from Old Bawn, was head-hunted by Praveen Madire, CEO of IT consulting partner Test Triangle, to drive TechFynder, a first-to-market platform that connects employers in the IT sector and qualified IT contractors.

To date, they have about 11,000 contractors on the platform from across the globe, including 2,200 in Ireland.
The Blanchardstown-based company is hiring 50 people over the next two years to support its expansion plans across Europe, the US and the UK.
Mr Guy, Head of Marketing at TechFynder, has a wealth of experience with an impressive CV and an eye for development.
“I’ve worked in start-ups, in corporate multi-nationals, always want to learn new things, always interested in building brands – I’m very good at that,” said Paul.
“Praveeen gave me the opportunity to build a product.”
Supported by Enterprise Ireland, TechFynder was officially launched in October.
Like a lot of great business ideas, Mr Guy acknowledges TechFynder is based on a simple premise, and he didn’t have to oversell it at the recent Web Summit in Portugal.

“It is a 10-second sell, very simple. We give you what you want,” he said.
While other platforms provide links for jobs, Guy insists Techfynder focuses on a specific need within the IT sector, with contractors finding it difficult to connect directly with companies and searching online for the next contract costs time and money.
“It isn’t a recruitment agency. We do it for IT contractors completely. Basically it is a talent pool, free to join, companies pay a fee of $99 a month – you can sign contracts through it.
“In Ireland, we have about 2,200 contractors on the platform. At the moment only so many are available. I spoke to contractors across Ireland and the EU, they told me they wanted this. You can’t have companies without contractors,” he said.
The service allows contractors to list their skills, experience, per diem rates, location and the length of contract they’re looking for.
The platform will then match them with suitable companies.
Starting his career as an architect, Paul Guy rebranded his own career trajectory via night-time education, including a Masters Degree in Marketing and Communications with TUD in 2012.
He previously worked as Head of Marketing with a number of leading firms, including Lloyds Pharmacy, Reep Rewards, and Aramark. He was Topaz Head of Loyalty and CRM between 2016-17.
Guy calls the TechFynder platform “a direct one-stop solution for hiring IT contractors globally,” which he says saves on budget by avoiding advertising on platform and paying to vendor commissions.
