Tallaght man allegedly threatened to kill guard

A YOUNG man who allegedly threatened to kill a security guard in Citywest had his case remanded by Blanchardstown Court. Jurisdiction had previously been accepted in James O’Reilly’s case.

O’Reilly, aged 20, with an address at Ard Mor Walk, Tallaght, is charged with threatening to kill or cause serious harm to a named male at Citywest Business Park, Naas Road, on February 13, 2016.

The court had heard it will be alleged that on February 13 last, O’Reilly haddriven into CityWest Business Park and was observed by security.

O’Reilly was allegedly stopped by security and he became aggressive. O’Reilly allegedly told one of the security guards that he would “go to the NCT in Naas and get his address”.

O’Reilly’s solicitor, Simon Fleming, told Judge David McHugh that he needed some time to go through the case with his client.

Detective-Garda Shane Barry said that disclosure in the case had been forwarded to Mr Fleming.

Det-Garda Barry said that as a condition of bail, O’Reilly was to stay out of Citywest but he said that on November 25 last, O’Reilly had been seen at Topaz in Citywest.

Judge McHugh told Det-Garda Barry that he would need to give sworn evidence in relation to objectons to bail. He remanded O’Reilly on continuing bail to a date in January for mention.
