Tallaght man hoping to get RC Model Aircraft course off the ground

TALLAGHT man Adrian McShane is planning to ressurect the Radio Control Model Aircraft training course he last ran back in 1998.

Back then people came to Jobstown Community Centre to learn about building, flying and taking care of a model aircraft in a free course provided by McShane.

He is hoping that, as was the case back then, local businesses would be willing to make a financial contribution or a donation of parts for the aircraft to enable the course to get off the ground.

Speaking to The Echo the Tallaght resident said “I was four when my late father bought our first model aircraft, and I’ve been interested in flying them ever since.

“I’d like to give something back to young people from the local area, so that they can have something positive to participate in”

He added, “It is great fun to learn how to build and fly them, and if after the course people want to continue with the hobby, I will put them in touch with model aero clubs from around the area.”

“The age group I’d be looking to teach would be 14 years and up,” he added.

So if you would like to find out more about the course McShane plans to run, or would like to make a donation you can contact him on: 086-1670713 or email him at pro@live.ie
