Templeogue, Eanna and Lions set for National Cup final

ONLY in the first season on the national stage, Clondalkin side Dublin Lions go head-to-head with Phoenix Rockets in the Division One National Cup decider.

Lions overcame St Paul’s Killarney in the semi-finals and will be full of confidence heading into this decider.

Amelia Motz has been in brilliant form for Lions and her 26 points in the semi-final set them on their way to their win.

Rob White’s side have impressed on their way to the final and will be looking to the likes of Gillian Wheeler and Sofia Paska to put in big performances.

Elsewhere, DBS Eanna are also in cup action, and they do battle with University of Galway Maree in the Pat Duffy Cup decider.

Darren McGovern’s side have been in flying form of late, but they did suffer a surprise defeat in the league at the weekend.

The Ballyroan side will be competing in the cup final for the second time in three seasons and will fancy their chances of going all the way. Romonn Nelson, Steven Desncia and Neil Lynch will be key players for Eanna in the decider.

In the U18 Men’s Billy Coffey National Cup, Templeogue will take on Limerick Celtics on Friday night. Templeogue booked their place in the final when they beat Limerick Lions last week.

Jack Wright stood out for Templeogue in the semis with 18 points while Daniel Carberry is another player to watch out for.
