‘This pandemic is challenging us to think outside the box’

TALLAGHT University Hospital has established a virtual clinic for nursing homes in the area.
Once again, the local hospital is standing true to its slogan #TUHWorkingTogether as it supports both those being cared for on campus and across its community.

According to a spokesperson for Tallaght University Hospital (TUH): “This pandemic is challenging us to think outside of the box.
“The people in long term residential care represent the most vulnerable group at risk during this pandemic, and access to hospital resources will be under more strain than ever before.”
Prof Sean Kennelly and Advanced Nurse Practitioner Claire Noonan have established a virtual clinic for nursing homes in the area, providing both Covid & Non-Covid related care.
“The video and tele-conference facilities enable them to review residents and conduct meetings with medical officers and director of nursing within the nursing home to reduce any unnecessary transfers to the Hospital while offering as optimal care as possible”, the spokesperson said.
