THORNTONS Recycling has been requested to submit additional information for their plans for the change of use Unit S3A and Unit 2 of S3B at Parkwest Business Park, for a materials recycling facility and an internal extension of a garage facility respectively.

It is proposed that Unit S3A will be changed to a materials recycling facility, with the ability to accept and process up to 35,000 tonnes of dry recyclables per annum.

The installation of two weighbridges, measuring 15m x 3m, and the relocation and amending of one existing roller shutter door, and the installation of four new roller shutter doors, and the creation of 15 car parking spaces directly off Henry Road form part of the plans.

A portion of Unit S3A is also to be reconfigured to facilitate an internal extension of the adjacent garage facility in Unit 2 of S3B.

Provision of an in-floor conveyor and a baling unit for processing incoming materials is included.

The applicant noted that an application would be made to Dublin City Council for a waste facility permit.

The council requested additional information last month, including a full list of up-to-date, authorised waste collection permit NWCPO numbers and details of any sub-contractors, and confirmation of the destination facilities that the authorised waste collection holders intend to use.

The applicant has six months to submit the requested documents.
