Tourism plan set to create 5,000 jobs and bring in €62m
UP TO 5,000 new jobs and a potential spend of €62 million by domestic and international tourists is predicted for South County Dublin, according to a new draft strategy for tourism being launched by South Dublin County Council this Monday.
The Echo has learned that a draft plan called A Tourism Strategy for South Dublin County 2015 – 2020 is up for discussion at this Monday’s (April 13) council meeting, after which the ambitious plan will be officially launched.
Driven by a Tourism Working Group comprising of industry stakeholders, councillors, key council staff and members of the council’s Economic Enterprise and Tourism Development Strategic Policy Committee, the strategy intends to “serve as the roadmap to unlock the potential of the county” and to develop the tourist economy over the next five years.
