Two men arrested after gardai seize €100,000 cocaine haul in Saggart searches

As part of ongoing investigations targeting serious criminal activity in the Dublin Region, Gardai from the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, supported by the Serious Crime Task Force, stopped two men in the Saggart area at approximately 4pm yesterday.

During this stop and search operation one kilo of cocaine was seized and two men, aged 27 and 57, were arrested for drug trafficking offences and brought to Clondalkin Garda Station where they were detained under the provisions of Section 2 of The Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

Follow up searches yielded a further quantity of cocaine. The total street value of cocaine seized in this investigation is estimated at €100,000.

Both men were subsequently charged in relation to the detections and are scheduled to appear before Blanchardstown District Court at 10.30am on the 17th October 2016.
