TERESA Costello, from Aylesbury in Tallaght, is embarking on a new challenge as a Unislim leader for a new group in Tymon Bawn Community Centre, after battling breast cancer.

The mother-of-one, who was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was 35-years-old, is an ambassador for Breast Cancer Ireland and runs a popular blog about her experience called Breast Friends Ireland.

Now Ms Costello is hoping to help others by encouraging good nutrition and healthy habits, after she lost weight through joining Unislim when she was a teenager.

Ms Costello told The Echo: “I was overweight at 16, and I joined Unislim.

“I thought they were brilliant, because they steer you away from processed foods.

“Since having been through cancer I’ve become more aware of how food choices impact on your health.”

The Tallaght native, who is a self-described gym bunny, said that the classes will contain motivational talks, information about nutrition and an opportunity for members to take time out of their day to focus on themselves.

“It’s about feeling good about yourself,” she added.

“I think anybody who’s confused about nutrition should come along to a Unislim group.”

Teresa’s classes are held in Tymon Bawn Community Centre, Aylesbury, every Wednesday from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.
