Vincent’s Tallaght win Business Development Award

THE Society of St Vincent de Paul (SVP) Vincent’s shop in Tallaght won the East Region Business Development Award at the 2019 SVP National Shops Awards.

Ali Tabrizy, of Vincent’s Tallaght, received the award from Lynn Byrne. Area Manager, SVP East Region, at the Awards event held in Limerick last week.

Vincent’s charity shop in Firhouse has also won the Volunteer of the Year award in the SVP East Region.

Ann Walker, of Vincent’s Firhouse was the Volunteer of the Year for the SVP East region. Ann, who is an “honest, hardworking, positive person with a wonderful sense of humour” has been volunteering in Vincent’s Firhouse for over five years.

Vincent’s Tallaght is one of 47 Vincent’s shop in the SVP East region (Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow). There are 230 Vincent’s shops throughout Ireland.

Vincent’s charity shops are an important aspect of the service SVP provides. Not only do they provide people with new and lightly worn items at affordable prices, they also provide an income source for the Society. Profits generated from the charity shops, some of which also supply furniture, are recycled into local Conferences around Ireland to support those in need.
