
Weather warning in place as thunderstorms and lightning expected overnight
Met Eireann have issued Orange and Yellow weather warnings tonight, with heavy thunderstorms likely in most parts of the country.
Lightning is also expected, with the ESB advising customers to charge their phones in case of power outages.

The Status Yellow weather warning is in place for counties including Dublin, Kildare, Laois, Meath, Westmeath , Louth, Wicklow, Offaly and Longford.
Met Eireann have said: “Moderate to high risk of thunderstorms tonight. Risk of localised flooding. Rainfall amounts uncertain. But between 20 and 30 mm possible.”
Meanwhile, a Status Orange warning is in place for Munster, Carlow, Kilkenny and Wexford, with the highest risk along the south coast.
