Works may impact water supply across a number of Tallaght areas

HOMES and businesses across some areas of Tallaght may experience low pressure or water outages due to Irish Water works on Monday night, April 4.

According to Irish Water, ‘essential upgrade works to safeguard water supply’ are scheduled to take place from 10pm tonight until 5am tomorrow morning, Tuesday, April 5.

Irish Water said that crews will reconfigure the network to maintain water supply to as many areas as possible.

However, temporary, intermittent low pressure and/or water outages may be experienced in Rossfield, Fettercairn, Lanndale, Springfield, Glenshane, Knockmore, Whitestown Industrial Estate, South City Business Park, Tallaght University Hospital and the surrounding areas.

Irish Water said that typically it takes two to three hours following restoration time for normal supply to be fully restored to all areas.

Speaking about the works, Tselo Tlou, Irish Water said: “Irish Water understands that this type of work can be inconvenient and, working in partnership with South Dublin County Council, we will make every effort to minimise the disruption that these necessary works may cause.

Tselo added that customers may experience some “temporary discolouration of water following the works and occasionally issues such as internal airlocks may arise”.
