Accused of punching wife and pulling her hair out
A MAN has been accused of punching his wife and pulling her hair out in a domestic assault at their west Dublin home.
The 39-year-old is alleged to have attacked his wife in their bedroom when he woke up “angry” after an argument about his drinking.

He is accused of assault causing harm to her and breaching a domestic violence order at their home in Lucan on a date last August.
He was remanded on continuing bail when he appeared in Blanchardstown District Court.
A garda told Judge David McHugh the DPP directed summary disposal of the case in the district court, subject to the issue of jurisdiction being considered.
The court heard the woman returned home at 9pm and saw that the accused had been drinking and was intoxicated.
They had a verbal argument about his drinking and went to bed.
At around 3am in the morning, it was alleged the accused woke up and became very aggressive and angry, shouting at his wife in bed, the garda continued.
The woman got up to leave the house and go for a walk.
When she went downstairs, it was alleged the accused followed her and forced her back up the stairs and into the bedroom.
It was alleged he pushed her onto the bed, held her down and hit her with a closed fist to the left side of her face.
She held her hands over her head to protect herself and it was alleged the man pulled hair from her head.
When gardai arrived, they saw redness to the side of the alleged victim’s face and she had clumps of her own hair in her hands.
The woman did not seek any medical assistance and made a full recovery over a number of weeks, the garda said.
Reading a medical report, Judge McHugh noted there was also bruising to the woman’s shoulder.
He said the allegations were at the highest that could be dealt with in the district court but he accepted jurisdiction.
He made an order for disclosure of prosecution documents to the defence and adjourned the case to a date in March for the accused to decide on a plea.
