Celebrations of all things unique with Tallafest 2016

REGISTRATIONS to participate in this year’s Tallafest are now open, as the community counts down to the annual Tallaght village-based celebration of local life, talent, heritage, nature and spirit.

Run by Tallaght Community Council (TCC), with support from an army of volunteers and local organisations, businesses and clubs, Tallafest is taking to Tallaght village this September 10 – with everybody encouraged to be part of what is a unique celebration of all things Dublin 24.

The free programme of events is as diverse as Tallaght life, with a host of activities running across six zones – kids, arts and heritage, sports, nature, craft market and live stage.

Some of the events include nature walks, imaginative play, live history demos and dress up, a farmyard area, art classes with Don Conroy, traditional games, a bake-off, poetry sessions, art exhibitions, magic, music, dance and much more.

Tara De Buitléar, PRO of TCC told The Echo: “We are delighted to have Don Conroy on board this year to bring his particular style and love for art to local children”.

With just over six weeks to go, registrations for Tallafest have now opened – with calls being made for event volunteers, stage acts, sports clubs, children entertainers, imaginative play or crafts, fun education, craft stalls and food vendors.

Tara De Buitléar and TCC would encourage people to register for the fun event – which aims to make ‘back to school’ more fun this year.

To register your interest visit the website www.tallafest.ie, or the Tallafest Facebook page or turn to page 44 for more.
