DUBLIN: Gardai appeal for witnesses after two male pedestrians seriously injured in early morning collision

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to a serious road traffic collision this morning in which two male pedestrians were seriously injured.

The incident occurred at Kilshane Cross at approximately 6:30am when a car struck the two men.

In a statement released by Gardai this lunchtime a spokesperson said: “Two pedestrians, both men, (mid 60s & mid 50s) were seriously injured when struck by a car.

“The driver of the car was not injured. Both men were removed to James Connolly Hospital and are receiving treatment.

“One of the men has since been transferred to St. James hospital.”

Gardai are appealing for witnesses who may have been on the Kilshane Road, Cappagh Road or in the area between 6am and 7am this morning.

They are particularly interested in hearing from any motorists with a dash cam in their vehicle to contact Blanchardstown Garda Station on 01 – 6667000, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

The road remains closed as Forensic Collision Investigators are at scene and local diversions are in place.
