

Gardai investigating cash-in-transit van robbery by armed thief in Lucan
An investigation is underway after an armed robbery in Lucan this lunchtime.
The terrifying incident unfolded at 12:30 outside a bank on Lucan’s Main Street.
A man armed with a gun approached a cash-in-transit van and demanded cash from the driver.
Gardai said the man left the scene with a sum of money.
In a statement released to Echo.ie a Garda spokesperson said: “Gardai are investigating a CIT robbery that occurred outside a premises on Main Street, Lucan this afternoon at approximately 12.30.
“One man armed with what is believed to be a firearm escaped with a sum of money.”
The man left the scene in a vehicle, believed to be a Volkswagen Golf.
There were no physical injuries reported and investigations are ongoing.
