How long are you together?

2 and a half years

How long are you engaged?

11 months

How did you meet? (Martin)

We met online, we were chatting for over two months and we were getting on really well. Eventually I asked Lisa could I please have her number and she said yes.

It turns out we lived around the corner from each other when we were younger and we also worked around the corner from each other!

Who proposed?

Martin

How did you propose? (Martin)

Well, firstly I got the engagement ring specially made for Lisa. Then on the night I cooked a romantic dinner.

I had hidden the ring in the fridge behind the dessert. When we finished our dinner I then asked her ‘would you like this?’ and showed her the dessert, ‘or would you like this?’, and showed her the engagement ring!

What’s the most Romantic thing you have ever done for each other? (Lisa)

For my 40th birthday Martin wrapped up a huge box and at midnight I opened it and inside were 40 individual presents. There was also a list of each present and the meaning behind each one. It was so thoughtful.

What would your ‘first dance’ song be?

Ed Sheeran – ‘Thinking out loud’

What would it mean to you both to win this prize?

Martin: To win this would be, like it said in the Echo, a dream. I knew the minute I saw Lisa I was going to marry her.

We both have kids and they are starting college and going back to school so winning this would make the wedding a reality.

We both work and saving when you have kids is very hard. This would give us the helping hand we need to become husband and wife.

So we are keeping everything crossed, we have been so lucky to find each other and to get this far in the competition and the icing on the cake would be to win it.

Lisa: It would be a dream come true if we were to win this amazing prize.

They say there is somebody out there for everyone and I never really believed this until I met Martin.

He truly is my best friend and soul mate and the person I want to spend the rest of my life with.

To become Mrs Lisa Hayes would just top it all off. We have set a date and both of us and our families are really looking forward to it.

Winning this would be such a huge help and a step closer to tying the knot.
