Peamount U14 girls raise All-Ireland Cup
THE PHENOMENAL run of Peamount United Girls Under-14 side shows no signs of slowing down, after they stormed to a 4-0 win over Wilton United in the All-Ireland Cup.
As they arrived at the Cup Final venue in Tramore, the Newcastle side knew they were against a tough opponent but if they played to their strengths, a win was very much within their grasp.

And it took just 10 minutes for the Newcastle side to break the deadlock, when a Jamie Thompson corner found Tiziana Gorniak, who coolly slotted home at the back post.
Their early score obviously stunned their Cork opponents no end, as Peamount doubled their lead just five minutes later, when another Jamie Thompson ball found it’s way to Elana Quinn who finished it off into the back of the net.
With just 25 minutes on the clock, the result was well and truly put to bed, with Orlagh Fitzpatrick making it 3-0 with a tidy finish under the keeper.
Wilton came back strongly in the second half, but United keeper Claudia Keenan pulled off a number of outstanding saves to deny the Leesiders.
With ten minutes left on the clock, Fitzpatrick grabbed her second and her sides fourth goal of the match, as the Haughans Field side claimed the Under-14 trophy in emphatic style.
The girls have other potential trophy successes down the line, as they play in the final of the Molly O’Toole Cup, and are still in contention for the Under-14 League title too.
