Pharmacy celebrates five years in business with plans to grow
A PHARMACY celebrated five years in business this week, amid plans to expand and grow it’s services for the wider community.
Located inside Mace Killinarden store, Pharmacy Hub was opened in February 2018, by Michelle O’Hagan, a Community Pharmacist with over 25 years experience in the industry.
The business employs nine staff with the range of skills required to offer a consistent professional service.
“We are like a family and everyone is dedicated to providing a real personal service which is the core of Pharmacy Hub,” said Michelle.
“We have been welcomed by the community and our business has grown considerably over the past five years.
“We have built a loyal customer base and we receive great support.
“The focus is to continue to provide a committed personal healthcare service and to expand our services.
“We had a refit last year to enable expansion of our services and more comfortable experience for our customers and staff.”
Covid was a challenging time for frontline workers but Michelle believes staff “learned a lot” from the experience, building up a delivery service to the most isolated and vulnerable in the community.
“We provided travel antigen testing and developed a robust covid vaccination service, and continue to improve on health outcomes for our patients, and as always focus on customer service,” said Michelle.
“We have the most wonderful customers who are very loyal, many just come in for daily chats and we feel due to our personal service we offer an outreach in a way.”
Pharmacy Hub aims to embed itself deeper into the community and become one of the first port of call for community healthcare needs.
“We have plans for expanding our shop here in Mace and continue to keep updated with HSE and private services.
“The team are always enthusiastic and we attend courses which adds value to our overall service,” said Michelle.
Along with a range of services such as free prescription deliveries, blood pressure testing, cholesterol testing, and free contraception, the pharmacy also offers health advice over the counter, corporate health checks and seasonal vaccinations.
