SAP breaks €10bn revenue barrier in record quarter

SAP, with an Irish base in Citywest, has crossed €10 billion in quarterly revenue for the first time as the CEO hailed an “outstanding” three-month period for the company.

The German multinational software company with a location at Citywest Business Campus, posted an 11-figure revenue in a milestone report as total revenue grew 13 per cent, and also lifted its outlook for 2026 in response to the new numbers.

The group also reported a rise in cloud revenue of 26 per cent up to €6.67bn and the company’s Chief Financial Officer Dominik Asam put the numbers down to a “disciplined approach to cost management.”

The CFO at SAP said: “For the first time, SAP crossed €10bn in total quarterly revenue and €3bn of non-IFRS operating profit, reflecting the strength and scalability of our business model.

“Our disciplined approach to cost management, paired with continued cloud momentum, demonstrates our ability to grow both the top and bottom line at the same time.”

SAP now projects the full-year revenue to be between €36.3bn and €36.8bn, with the final figure set to land on the higher end of the range.

Both the IFRS operating profit and non-IFRS operating profit increased by 18 per cent and the current cloud backlog saw a rise of 28 per cent up to €24.1bn.

The company’s Chief Executive, Christian Klein noted that customers, including new ones such as pharmeutical company AstraZeneca, are getting behind its Autonomous Enterprise strategy.

The CEO said: “Q3 was an outstanding quarter, with current cloud backlog up 26% at constant currencies. Our Autonomous Enterprise strategy is not just resonating, it is being adopted.

“Our customers are investing in the technology behind it – from the cloud and data foundation to our Business AI.

“They see that Joule Work makes the business case for their transformation more attractive than ever.”
