Halloween bonfires leave trail of damage across Tallaght and Cherry Orchard
Bonfires across Tallaght and Cherry Orchard on Halloween saw heavy damage done to green spaces and residential areas in the local community, as well as dangers beyond flames, with nitrous oxide canisters present at sites.
Scenes in Cherry Orchard at Croftwood Gardens included car crashes and bonfires with a crowd watching, amidst a reduced Garda presence and fireworks event cancellation as a result of ongoing industrial action, and some fires were deemed “too hostile to attend to” by Dublin Fire Brigade, who received several calls throughout the afternoon and night.
