A CHOIR from St Dominic’s College in Ballyfermot, recently performed on stage at the Helix, in Dublin City University.
It was the school’s tenth successive year performing in the Emmanuel concert, which brings together over 2,000 secondary school students in Dublin for several concerts.

This year, six of St Dominic’s 17 students who took part, also had the honour of performing solos on stage.
“It was a massive achievement and a fantastic opportunity to perform on stage accompanied by a full orchestra,” said St Dominic’s College Principal Mary Daly.
“For many of these sixth-year students, it was their sixth and final year to be granted a solo performance at the concert, and they have come on in leaps and bounds since they first set foot on that stage way back in 2013.”
St Dominic’s College student Shannon O’Connor said: “Taking part in Emmanuel and other choir activities will be one of the things I miss most when I leave St Dominic’s this year. I have gained so much confidence and achieved so much from singing in the choir. I never thought taking part in extra-curricular activities would have such a huge influence on my life.”
