Accused of breaking a shopworkers jaw

A MAN accused of breaking a shopworkers jaw had his case further remanded to consider jurisdiction by Blanchardstown District Court.

Hassen Berki, aged 21, with an address at Greenfort Drive, Clondalkin, is charged with assaulting Danish Khan causing him harm at Londis, Adamstown, Lucan,on October 19, 2016.

The court had heard it will be alleged that on October 19, 2016, Berki entered Londis in Adamstown and attacked a member of staff. Berki allegedly punched the man in the face and knocked him to the ground.

The injured party suffered a fractured jaw and had a metal plate inserted in his jaw.

The case was before Judge David McHugh for him to consider jurisdiction.

Berki’s solicitor, John O’Doherty, said his client was not in court as he is very ill.

He said Berki had been in court on all his previous dates. Mr O’Doherty said his client wanted the case to progress.

Judge McHugh remanded Berki in his absence for three weeks to consider jurisdiction.
