Lucan model returns from Paris Fashion Week
“PARIS Fashion Week was honestly one of those experiences that I don’t think I’ll fully realise the significance of until I look back on it” remarks Lucan model Courtney Smith.
Courtney has recently returned to Ireland, having been to Paris to model at the 2026 Paris Fashion Week, which took place from September 28 to October 4. Being in Paris, surrounded by so many talented models, designers, photographers and creatives from all over the world, was “incredible”.
There were hundreds of people attending across the different shows and events, and there was “such an exciting buzz everywhere I went”.
Walking the runway herself was a “surreal moment” for Courtney. She was nervous at first, but as soon as she stepped onto the runway, the nerves turned into excitement.
“I remember thinking how crazy it was that I was actually walking in Paris Fashion Week,” she exclaims.
It was something she had “really wanted to experience”, so being able to do it was a “very proud moment for me”.
Courtney loved getting ready for the shows, meeting other models and creatives, and seeing how much work goes into putting a show together.
For her, while getting dressed up and walking the runway was “amazing”, it was the “little moments in between” that made the whole experience so “memorable”.
Courtney would like to thank the designers, organisers, makeup artists, hairstylists, photographers and everyone behind the scenes who made her feel “so welcome”.
She is also “incredibly thankful” to her family (parents Nicola and Eamonn, sister Shauna, grandparents, aunts, and uncles) and friends for supporting her throughout the whole journey and cheering her on.
Getting to experience Paris Fashion Week, especially after everything she has worked towards, is something she will always be “very proud of”.
