Tallaght Stadium North Stand almost complete

WORK on the new North Stand and enhancements to the West Stand and South Stand upgrades at Tallaght Stadium will be “substantially complete this month”, according to South Dublin County Council.

The development includes the new North Stand, the revamped corporate and hospitality areas of the Main Stand as well as the improved accessible seating and the changing places facility in the South Stand.

This will see the stadium capacity reach 10,000 and, according to the council, will “enhance the experience” of people attending football matches, conferences, and concerts in the stadium.

“The council looks forward to welcoming spectators to the new North Stand, as soon as is practical, once all works are completed,” stated SDCC at a Tallaght Area Committee meeting last week.

“It is envisaged that an official opening to mark the new improved facilities will be organised at a suitable future date.”

As reported in The Echo last June, work on the North Stand had been delayed “by some weeks” due to supply chain issues affecting the contractor.

The structure had an original completion date of July 2023, but this was pushed back to the third quarter of the year due to the supply chain issues.
